Before making any changes to your Exim configuration, it’s important to create a backup.
This ensures you can easily restore your mail settings if needed.

This guide explains how to backup and restore your Exim configuration using the WHM interface.

How to Backup Exim Configuration

1. Log into WHM (WebHost Manager) as root.

2. Navigate to:

   WHM → Exim Configuration Manager

3. Select the Backup tab and click Run Backup
   
   

   WHM will prompt you to download a file, for example:
   
   

   eximconfig-2025-04-27.json

    

4. Save this file somewhere safe on your computer.

How to Restore Exim Configuration

If you need to restore your Exim settings:

1. Log into WHM as root.

2. Go to:

   WHM → Exim Configuration Manager

3. Select the Restore tab and click Choose File

4. Upload the backup file you saved earlier (e.g., eximconfig-2025-04-27.json).

5. WHM will automatically apply the restored settings.

6. Restart Exim when prompted.

✅ Your previous configuration will be fully restored and active.
